A regular intake of fluoride protects against dental caries in both adults and children’s teeth and has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing tooth decay and gum disease. As a population, we need to increase our intake of fluoride as a shocking 81percent of the population has some form of gum disease.

An enjoyable, healthy and natural way to take fluoride is to drink tea regularly. Tea is a natural source of fluoride and just one cup can contain between 0.3 and 0.5mg. One study suggests that drinking tea can help prevent dental caries and it has also been suggested that the build-up of plaque, the scale that causes gum disease, is combated by drinking tea.
